News from Northburgh: Goodbye, my friend!

 

 

My dear friend,

it has been a long time ago since we talked the last time. I got the permission from the emperor to go into retirement soon. Let me tell you for sure, it’s time for my retirement. The bones become weak, I’m getting more and more calm and I’m getting tired of all the scheming games at the court.
The emperor is very pleased with my service only because of your support. However, now it’s time to look back to all of our results and achievements we could accomplish together. Yes, it has been moving years, which will now lie behind us.

Many things change since you, my dear friend, came to these realms to claim the islands. All of these empty islands started to bloom in all its glory. More and more settlers trust your skills and followed your voice.

Today, you harbor an impressive population, ensure for safety on your islands and make trades with your kind. It has been a wonderful experience for me to sail on your side through calm and rough sea.

It’s hard for me to mention all the big things you achieved – your monuments an impressive sign for your management and crafting skills. Many memories of our adventures will follow me through my life and I am very thankful that you went with me through all of it. Even during ice and snow you have been by my side.

You have always been ready to help others and that’s how I will always keep you in my mind. You shared your bread with starving people, heal sickness, defeated pirates, went again storm floods and you even faced ghost without showing fear – others would have run away or become unconscious.
Helena asked me to thank you for all the beautiful flowerbeds and trees you planted to make your island even more beautiful. I raise my head to your accomplishment.

You even gave everything with heart matters. Many couples owe you their time being together or even getting married. You even helped little apprentices and maidens to find their true love. Who knows? Perhaps you found your own true love or friendship.

For me, you have not only been a good friend but the best friend and companion I could imagine.
Such a friendship stays forever and nothing could ever destroy the bound. You stay in my memories forever. I can still only thank you. For your time, your friendship, your service and your passion which enriched my life.

Very soon, I go aboard of a small ship to set sail towards south. A quiet and great life with sunny day, good food and music awaits me there. Just a good friend is missing during my journey. I know, I ask a lot but there is still something missing.

I almost lost my courage but I still must ask you:

Would you show me the honor to accompany me one more time?

It would honor me the most.

If not, I can only wish you all the luck and healthiness you need for your future. Always good weather, a calm sea and a successful business. In my mind, I will always be by your side.
